R.I.P. KMS38

HWID

• Activation support has been extended to the WNC edition.

KMS38

• As of Windows build 26100.7019, Microsoft has completely removed the clip-based KMS license migration feature, rendering KMS38 ineffective starting from this build. For more details, see our /kms38 guide.
• KMS38 has been removed from the main MAS script. Users are encouraged to utilize HWID or TSforge for activation instead.
• For those wishing to use KMS38 on older Windows versions or for archival purposes, the standalone script is available in older versions of MAS.

TSforge

• On Windows build 26100.7019 and newer, even if the actual KMS grace period is longer, Windows will consistently show and maintain a 180-day remaining KMS grace period. KMS4k information within the script has been updated to reflect this behavior.
• Added ESU support for PPIPro, as included in build 19045.6388.
• Fixed a filtering bug that prevented ESU IDs from appearing in the manual selection option.
• A command to refresh the ESU status has been added.

Change Windows Edition

• The key preference order has been adjusted to allow for proper installation of the HWID key, courtesy of @lava1879 (Magic).
• Added information [GAC, not LTSC] for the "IoTEnterprise" edition to differentiate it from its LTSC counterpart, "IoTEnterpriseS."

Troubleshoot

• The script now automatically selects the Quick Repair option for Office 16.0 C2R, a suggestion from @YerongAI.
• Additional conditions have been implemented before rebuilding ClipSVC licenses for improved stability.

Check Activation Status

• @abbodi1406 corrected an issue in our activation status checker where KMS Client information was erroneously displayed when ADBA was active.

All

• Minor enhancements to error handling and informational messages have been implemented across the board.

The Twin Keys Fall

HWID / KMS38

• Ticket generation now automatically signs tickets with the SPP Client Lockbox signing key. This key was discovered by @WitherOrNot to be identical to the Trusted Store key used in our TSforge method.
• The GamersOsState (patched GatherOsState) method is now fully deprecated for all ticket generation processes.

• An issue caused by the updated pkeyconfig on build 22631.5840 has been fixed, thanks to @WitherOrNot.

ESU for Home editions / Powershell method for Windows 7

HWID:

• The script will no longer temporarily change the system region in major countries.

• Added ESU support for Home editions, leveraging updated license files found in Windows 10 19045.6156.
• A bug affecting Windows 10 ARM64 has been resolved.

• Fixed an issue with adding/removing Office applications when multiple languages were installed.
• Added detection for unsupported languages in the Office 2019 Perpetual VL update channel.

All:

• A bug in detecting the Terminal app has been fixed.
• The AIO script now displays a tip regarding ESU updates on Windows 10.

Powershell command to launch MAS:

• The old command `$z="$env:TEMP\MAS.zip"; irm https://get.activated.win/downloads/Microsoft-Activation-Scripts. It now provides information on how to obtain the updated command.
• A new command for Windows 7 has been introduced, alongside an alternative DoH-based command for situations where get.activated.win is blocked by an ISP or DNS. See our main page (/) for details.

TSforge:

• Fixed an issue where unattended mode was not functioning correctly.

The Empire Strikes Back

TSforge:

• Microsoft introduced a bug in Windows 11 build 27802 that caused Confirmation ID cache validation to consistently fail. This forced immediate validation from the stored Confirmation ID whenever the license status was checked.
• To circumvent this bug, TSforge now sets the current Installation ID to one from a known key, allowing for the generation of valid Confirmation IDs.
• For more details on StaticCID, refer to our TSforge documentation.
• The script will now utilize the StaticCID method (which requires an internet connection) on Windows builds 19041 and later.
• The KMS4k activation option has been added to the script.
• Special thanks to @WitherOrNot for their significant contributions to this.

Change Office Edition:

• Added an option to switch the Office update channel between VL and non-VL versions.

• Fixed a bug where sppsvc might not stop correctly on older systems, credit to @WitherOrNot.
• Addressed an issue preventing activation on Windows 10 ARM64, also thanks to @WitherOrNot.
• For Windows 10 ESU, 1-year and 2-year ESU options are now selected in addition to 3-year options to ensure broader compatibility.
• The Windows 10 ESU editions list has been updated to reflect build 19045.5552 (ServerRdsh added, IoTEnterpriseS removed).
• Added support for Office 365 15.0 due to the availability of phone licenses.
• Office HomeStudentARM IDs have been converted to Mondo, as phone licenses are not available for them.
• Support for an external LibTSforge.dll has been added if found in the BIN folder next to the script.

A new change Office edition script, rewritten Online KMS script and lots of improvements

All:

• Removed dependencies on WMIC (now deprecated by Microsoft) and VBScript for modern compatibility.
• Added a check for Windows subscription activation. Activation will now logically proceed based on the base edition, as demonstrated by examples. Thanks to @asdcorp and @abbodi1406.
• Implemented code to disable CMD QuickEdit using PowerShell instead of temporary registry edits, preventing accidental pauses when users click within the script window. Thanks to @abbodi1406.
• Code to launch from conhost.exe using PowerShell has been added to bypass the Terminal app. Thanks to @abbodi1406.
• Included more environment variables at the script's start to mitigate issues caused by corrupted user system variables.

Online KMS

• Differences from the previous version: * Added an option to configure the KMS server and port. * Added support for Office 2024. * The script now offers options to activate all Office products or only Project/Visio, and it will no longer skip already activated Office products. * A toggle option has been included to install the Renewal task alongside activation; by default, it is set to install. * If no internet connection is found, a run-once task will be created to attempt renewal upon system login when internet is available. * A toggle option to prevent edition changes for Windows/Office has been added if needed. * More detailed on-screen information regarding the activation process is now provided.

Change Office Edition

• This is a new option now available in the script. See our /change_office_edition guide for more.
• It provides the ability to change the installed C2R Office edition to any other, minimizing internet usage. This suggestion came from @ave9858.
• It also includes an option to change the Office update channel, thanks to @abbodi1406.

Change Windows Edition

• This script will now create log files on the desktop if an edition change fails.
• Several bugs have been fixed.

Check Activation Status

• Previous scripts have been replaced with the CAS by @abbodi1406.

Minor Update

Ohook:

• The Ohook version has been reverted to 0.3. This change was made due to observations of antivirus detections (false positives), potentially linked to a registry modification introduced in version 0.4. The trade-off is that version 0.3 requires Ohook to be run again when new user accounts are created on Windows if Office 365 is installed.
• The separate files version for the Ohook script has been merged into the AIO (All-in-One) script.
• Users do not need to update their existing Ohook installations with this revision.

Bug Fixes

Ohook:

• The script has been updated to use v0.4 Ohook. This version helps prevent license check banners for non-admin, domain-joined, and future new user accounts.
• The script now identifies and removes remnants of Office vNext licenses for all user accounts within the registry.

Change Edition:

• The script now checks for pending reboot flags before proceeding with an Edition change using DISM.
• Changing to the ServerRdsh edition is now blocked in the script, as its policies often cannot be rolled back.

All:

• Scripts will now check for updates and notify users.
• Several other bugs have been fixed.

HWID Activation is not working

HWID:

• Added information regarding the current issue with HWID activation not functioning.
• This is due to server-side changes at Microsoft. Please use the KMS38 option for now. Your existing HWID activations remain valid. This situation arose from recent changes to disallow free Windows 7/8 upgrades.
• Changed the key preference order for Office products as follows: Retail:TB:Sub > Retail > OEM:NONSLP > Volume:MAK > Volume:GVLK.
• Fixed several bugs.

• Minor update: The check activation scripts now include information to ignore ospp.vbs /dstatus results if an Ohook installation is detected.

Added Permanent Activation for Office

Ohook:

• Introduced the Ohook activation method, which can permanently activate Office on Windows 8 and later (and their Server equivalents), excluding Office 2010 and Office UWP apps. Thanks to @asdcorp for this new method. More information is available on our /ohook page.

HWID/KMS38:

• HWID activation has been added for IoTEnterpriseS 2024. Currently, the 2024 versions of IoTEnterpriseS and IoTEnterpriseSK support HWID activation, but EnterpriseS/SN do not.
• More checks have been incorporated to provide better error details for: internet issues, WMI issues, SvcRestartTask issues, and service issues.
• Some code has been optimized.

Online KMS:

• The script will now create scheduled task files in C:\Program Files\Activation-Renewal instead of C:\ProgramData\Activation-Renewal for security reasons.
• The script has been updated to @abbodi1406's KVA v50. Changes include:
• Fixing the conversion for Office 2016 C2R Retail, where initial runs sometimes incorrectly reported conversion failure even if successful (due to confusion with Office 2019 licenses/location detection).
• Adding support for activating Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 (LCU 19044.2788 or later).

Change Windows Edition:

• The script will now use @ave9858 (Alex)'s DISM API method instead of the changepk.exe method for changing editions from Windows 10/11 Core to Non-Core (e.g., Home to Pro). Advantages include: no internet disabling required, removal of OEM/GVLK key restrictions, and improved error output.
• The script will now only present the most effective methods for changing editions, simplifying choices.

Troubleshoot:

• The WMI fix option has been improved.
• The fix licensing option will now address ClipSVC, Office vNext, SPP, and OSPP licenses, as well as SPP permissions in files and the registry. Thanks to @ave9858 (Alex).

All:

• The "Insert HWID key" script has been removed as it was deemed less important and could cause confusion.
• Scripts now temporarily disable Quick Edit mode, preventing accidental pauses when users click within the script window.
• A check for null services has been added at the script's start, as corrupt services can cause crashes.
• Code has been optimized and several bugs have been fixed.
• The GitLab repository was taken down; a replacement repository has been created on Bitbucket. The Subreddit has also been revived.

Online KMS:

• cleansopp.exe has been replaced with the PowerShell script CleanOffice.ps1, thanks to @ave9858 (Alex).
• Resolved an issue where the script could get stuck during server port checks.
• The script has been updated to @abbodi1406's KVA v49. Changes include:
• Enhanced Office 15.0 C2R detection to distinguish between Retail and Volume products.
• Added a fallback mechanism: if Office 16.0 C2R licenses integrator.exe fails, licenses will be installed using the traditional slmgr.vbs/ospp.vbs methods.

Troubleshoot:

• The "Fix WMI" option has been improved.
• The "Fix licensing" option now addresses ClipSVC, Office vNext, SPP, and OSPP licenses, as well as SPP permissions in files and the registry. Thanks to @ave9858 (Alex).

Change Windows Edition:

• The script now supports default Windows 7 RTM installs; the WMF requirement has been removed, thanks to @ave9858 (Alex).

• All C# code has been converted to PowerShell reflection code, eliminating temporary files and reducing antivirus detections. Thanks to @ave9858 (Alex).
• Keys are now somewhat obfuscated in scripts to further reduce antivirus detections.
• The PowerShell one-liner to launch MAS now creates uniquely named/hashed files on each run to minimize antivirus detections.
• A detailed page for Office C2R retail installers is now available: /office_c2r_links.
• Error messages and instructions have been improved across all scripts.
• The /mas_legacy scripts have also been updated.

Goodbye to Gatherosstate.exe

HWID/KMS38:

• Gatherosstate.exe has been replaced by /hwid#universal_tickets (universal tickets). Thanks to @ave9858 (Alex).
• Older HWID methods are now preserved in a separate repository.
• An HWID key has been added for the Windows 11 IoTEnterpriseSK edition.
• To prevent errors related to unsupported Windows regions, the HWID script will temporarily change the region to US and then restore it.
• The HWID script will delete an IdentityCRL registry key to resolve issues caused by changed hardware IDs. Thanks to @awuctl.
• The KMS38 script will now apply KMS38 protection by default. The PowerShell code for this has been simplified.
• ClipUp.exe for Server CorAcor editions has been removed from the separate files version. Users will need to follow our /kms38#KMS38_-_Server_CorAcor guide to activate these versions with KMS38.
• Scripts will enable Windows Script Host if it is found to be disabled.
• More checks have been added to pinpoint the cause of activation failures.

Online KMS:

• The script has been updated to @abbodi1406's KVA v48 (A major change includes optional behavior to override Office C2R vNext licenses, such as subscriptions or lifetime licenses, or any lingering residue that might hinder proper KMS activation).
• Scripts will enable Windows Script Host if it is found to be disabled.
• More checks have been added to pinpoint the cause of activation failures.

Activation Troubleshoot:

• Added more options: Rebuild WMI Repository, Fix issues Caused By Gaming Spoofers, Fix issues Caused By KB971033 In Windows 7, Export Event Viewer Logs.

Change Windows Edition:

• Support for Windows 7/8/8.1 and their server equivalents has been added, and an alternative method for Windows 10/11 and their server equivalents has been implemented. Thanks to Anomalous Software Deterioration Corporation for their CBS Upgrade method.

Check Activation Status WMI:

• Thanks to @abbodi1406 for fixing a cosmetic issue in Office vNext Status (vNextDiag.ps1).

MAS AIO:

• Command-line /command_line_switches have been added for unattended mode. These can also be utilized in the PowerShell One-Liner code.
• Exit and Go Back options are now assigned to the 0 key in all cases.

Future-proofing / Goodbye to slc.dll

HWID/KMS38:

• slc.dll has been removed. We will now patch the original gatherosstate.exe dynamically using PowerShell, thanks to Anomalous Software Deterioration Corporation.
• ARM64 files have been eliminated; the x86 gatherosstate.exe now functions across all architectures.
• Scripts can now activate future editions by retrieving the key directly from the system. Thanks to @awuctl and @abbodi1406.
• More detailed diagnostic checks are in place for failed activations.
• The Windows product name is now accurately extracted from winbrand.dll instead of the registry/WMI, thanks to @abbodi1406.
• Fixed a bug where the script would incorrectly report an "Eval edition error" even when non-eval edition keys and certificates were installed.
• The HWID Lockbox method has been removed from the UI due to issues in certain builds.
• The ticket generation option has been removed from the UI as it's rarely needed and can cause confusion.
• Fixed a bug in the registry ownership snippet that occurred if the path name contained special characters.
• clipup.exe has been removed from the AIO script but remains in the separate files version. It is rarely needed (mostly for server cor/acor editions), and a smaller AIO size aids in download and PowerShell execution.

Online KMS:

• The script has been updated according to KVA v47 (major change: improved Office C2R-R2V conversion).
• The script will now set the KMS server to a private, non-existent IP (10.0.0.10) instead of 0.0.0.0, to prevent "non-genuine" banners in Office.
• The desktop context menu option has been removed as it was not widely used.
• Renewal task, file, and directory names have been changed to remove the word "KMS" to reduce antivirus detections.
• The "Skip KMS38" and "Convert C2R-R2V" toggle options have been removed from the UI as they were rarely used and caused confusion.
• Some changes have been made to avoid potential antivirus detection.

Activation Troubleshoot:

• Token rebuilding options will now also clear SPP-OSPP data.dat, tokens.dat, and cache.dat. An Office repair option will be launched to address licensing issues.
• Added an option to clear Office vNext licenses, which helps when KMS activation fails due to remnants of vNext licenses.

To further ensure the script's cleanliness from antivirus detections, the following changes were made:

• Script Separation: Large, multi-purpose scripts are often problematic for antiviruses, so all scripts have been separated into individual files.
• No File Conversion: Files are now added as they are, rather than being converted to text (which antiviruses "may" find suspicious if converted text is written to a file).
• Manual Admin Execution: The script now prompts users to manually run the file as administrator.
• VBS Usage Removed: All custom VBS usage has been removed.

(These changes reduced the user-friendliness of the script, but the main priority in maintaining this mirror is to provide AV-friendly activators, and these steps were necessary.)

Some additional changes:

• The Digital License script now checks for Internet and Update service availability and temporarily changes the update service status if required. After activation, it restores the original status.
• Modified gatherosstate files have been updated with files from hwid.kms38.gen.mk6.exe v55.01 by @s1ave77. (Note: To adopt newer files from v60.01, a waiting period of at least a month is observed to assess stable antivirus detection rates.)
